GET TO KNOW ME
NATURAL LIGHT PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Aloha, I'm Oshi
My name is Oceana, yet most people call me by my nickname Oshi, pronounced "O-She". I am a natural light photographer, born and raised in Australia and based on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
Photography Chose Me
I grew up in Australia with American parents, immersed in an active, artistic lifestyle influenced by my family's involvement in the surf industry. During high school I got curious with SLR cameras and after high school, I attended Art School, where my passion for photography blossomed. Before the world of digital cameras, I loved getting creative as I developed 35mm films in darkrooms, and this made me appreciate the art of photography even more. I ended up traveling the world and moved to California that was short lived after a major car accident, that prompted my return to Australia. While on my journey to recovery, I engaged in community art projects and painted murals around my town. Eventually, I pursued digital design at university and deferred the last year of my studies. I eventually moved to Oahu, where I embraced portrait photography, got married and gained three kids, welcomed a son during the pandemic, all while balancing family life and my photography career.

My Ohana
My husband Lloyd and I first met in 2015 and have been together ever since. His three kids were in my life within a couple of months and from then on and unknowingly they have groomed me over the years in preparation for my son. Our son Kaimana arrived in 2021, and my heart has been full ever since. Lloyd encourages me to continue portrait photography, as it allows me to be a full-time mom and wife, while being able to stay creative.
