Photography Chose Me

I was born and raised in Australia to American parents as an only child. I was raised in a bikini surfing, swimming and trail rides on bikes and the occasional horses, traveling the world and living a blessed life. My parents being professionals in the surf industry, artists and IT guru's I just naturally fell into an artistic world and active lifestyle.  Not truly knowing what direction I wanted to take in my career after high school I decided to go to Art School to give me more time to consider what career direction I should do, it was there that I really fell in love with art and when studying I photography I knew right away this was amazing. Before the days of digital camera, adobe editing, online downloads... I was in the dark room developing my 35mm films and processing my images in the most creative way - developing chemicals... Opportunities took me across the globe and reality took a sudden halt when i was in a major vehicle accident abroad, after a clearance I returned to Australia and began an intense recovery program. Once I felt healing taking place I participated in some community programs to help beautify my hometown - I painted murals on bus shelters, public restrooms, water tank-towers and walls... This led me back to school at university just as digital technology was becoming a trend. I was wanting to put what I learned in art school to digital format and become designer in creating posters, CD-Book covers, website etc... Afterwards I traveled again and ended in Hawaii to change my environment and live life on the beach - portrait photography kinda accidently fell into my lap as I was asked to take portraits for friends... Fast forward 20+ years and I am still living in Oahu, married and automatically gained three kids, years later covid hit and we were blessed with a son .  

I juggle family life, lifestyle and photography to live a happy life.​
